Bio-identical hormones are derived from diosgenin, a substance obtained from Mexican yams. Diosgenin is safe and effective as its molecular structure is identical to those found naturally occurring in the body.

What is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy and how does it work?
BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) is a natural alternative to traditional HRT. The hormones are derived from natural, plant-based substances. The use of BHRT is to optimise hormone levels for both men and women, whether you are going through a significant change or are feeling a little sluggish and tired and need more energy.
What happens during my consultation?
During your consultation with one of our aesthetic doctors you will be asked various questions to determine how you are feeling day-to-day and if BHRT is a potential option for you. We will gently take some bloods to determine your current hormone levels and once we have results (which takes a few days) we will invite you back in to discuss your options.
The BHRT is made specifically for you at a specialist pharmacy and come in either tablets, a cream or lozenges. We will keep an eye on you when you first start taking your BHRT and will monitor your blood at one month, then again at three months to ensure you remain on the right levels. If not, we can tweak your dosage until you feel your very best.
What is BHRT used to treat?
Unbalanced hormone levels can lead to all sorts of symptoms including fatigue, insomnia, brain-fog, weight gain, hot sweats, low libido to name but a few. Whilst we may think this is just a part of growing older and therefore accept these symptoms, we don’t actually need to. BHRT is at hand to help balance our hormones and to help us feel the very best we can.
How does taking BHRT feel?
It is important to remember that we are unique beings and will all respond differently to this natural medication. Most people notice positive changes within just a few days, but it can take a good month for certain hormones to kick in. If there is ever anything you are unsure of, the clinic is always here to help and guide you through this time.
How long will my consultation take?
We allow 60 minutes for your consultation and blood test so that there is ample time for us to answer any questions you may have.
How much does it cost?
A yearly course which includes all consultations and blood tests is £2225. Payment for the medication is on top of this and paid directly to the pharmacy upon ordering. The cost of this varies depending on which hormones you need to take.
