Supercharge your HydraFacial with Celluma

HydraFacial treatment with Cell

Having survived a long winter, we’re looking forward to a lighter, brighter spring. If your skin is feeling somewhat dull and tired, you may wish to consider rejuvenating your complexion to match the new beginnings the season heralds.

When it comes to refreshing and hydrating the skin, HydraFacial is one our most effective treatments. It’s the perfect way to boost hydration and best of all, you’ll see instant results.

The HydraFacial is a non-invasive skin resurfacing and rejuvenating treatment that combines powerful cleansing and exfoliation, as well as unparalleled hydration with additional antioxidant protection. In addition to providing a general boost to skin, HydraFacial is also ideal for treating signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, as well as conditions such as acne and hyperpigmentation.

The Waterhouse Young HydraFacial has been rated as the best in London. It normally ends with HydraFacial’s own hand held infrared LED light probes treatment to aid circulation, reduce redness and irritation, and stimulate collagen production. However, we’ve just taken delivery of a brand-new high-tech Celluma Pro LED device. Our investment in this new technology will allow us to take our HydraFacial to the next level and maximise the effects of the HydraFacial.

What are the benefits of LED light skin treatments?

LED light therapy has risen in popularity in recent years, thanks in part to a very vocal celebrity following, but also for the simple fact that it works. The benefits to skin of delivering low levels of light by high intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs) has been well-proven. Advances in LED technology have continued to accelerate, making light therapy more accessible and effective than ever.

LED light therapy works by sending light waves deep into the skin to activate natural intracellular reactions. Different types of light are used for different skincare benefits, for example an amber coloured light is often used to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, red light reduces inflammation, and blue light kills bacteria. By using different wavelengths of light, it’s possible to obtain a whole host of benefits, including the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, improvement in scarring and hyperpigmentation, promoting circulation, preventing break-outs, and general skin brightening.

These benefits have been proven in thousands of clinical studies, which have shown the cellular absorption of photons (light energy) results in increased production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This is the form of energy that cells use to fuel metabolic processes, such as creating the proteins and enzymes required to repair and regenerate cells, hence the benefits to your skin.

Why is Celluma is better than standard LED light treatments?

Whilst all LED light treatment is non-invasive and usually safe, Celluma devices are the only LED machines approved by the FDA, and which meet all proven scientific parameters to ensure effectiveness. Celluma devices use their own patented, pulsed-wave technology controlled by proprietary software algorithms not found in any other LED light treatment devices. The devices are therefore uniquely capable of mimicking a natural photo-biochemical reaction process to deliver safe, UV-free low-level light energy.

Based on the Inverse Square Law of optical physics, we understand that the proximity to the treatment area is key to effectiveness of LED light treatment. Unlike any other device on the market, Celluma devices offer a large treatment area that can contour around any body part including the face, neck and décolleté. This offers a distinct advantage over rigid light therapy systems which have treatment placement limitations and where the distance between the light source and skin is difficult to keep constant. This leads to inconsistent light absorption and a subsequent inferior outcome.

Furthermore, the benefits of LED light therapy require specific energy doses to be available for absorption by the tissue. The acceptable range of energy available for absorption near the surface of the skin for an effective device should be in the range of 2-10 J/cm2. Celluma devices are designed to fall within this range, meaning the effect is maximised. Delivering light energy in a pulsed manner has also been shown to enhance the skin’s ability to absorb more energy over the treatment period, and Celluma devices are the only medically credentialed LED canopy-style machines that offer pulsing as an option.

Why combine Celluma with HydraFacial?

Given the additional benefits that Celluma provides over and above standard LED light treatment, we are excited to be able to use these new devices to maximise the results of our Hydrafacial. Thanks to its higher efficacy and efficiency, we will be using Celluma post-treatment to promote healing by reducing inflammation and increasing circulation, as well as to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This means even shorter downtime, with the risk of even the slightest redness or irritation minimised. You’ll leave your treatment with even brighter and more hydrated skin than ever before, with an unparalleled rejuvenation of your complexion.

Clinic Manager, Leanne Houlihan said: ‘At Waterhouse Young we are constantly improving our treatment practices and investing in new technologies that make it possible for our patients to benefit from their treatments to the highest level. We are excited to include Celluma as part of our highly popular and acclaimed HydraFacials, and can’t wait to see how our patients will love the effects it achieves.’

For a limited period, all our Hydrafacials will include Celluma at no additional cost, so book now to benefit.
